Luka Lesosky-Hay and Not Sew New

INTERNAL DUALITY

Luka Lesosky-Hay X Not Sew New

‘Internal Duality’ explores the ongoing coexistence of opposing forces - particularly the balance of internal masculinity and femininity.

The shirts feature bold appliqué lettering on the back, spelling ‘duality’, designed by @not.sew.new, alongside an airbrushed artwork by @lilsocky_ depicting women in boxing.

Luka Lesosky-Hay and Snack by Roberta

Roberta (@snackbyroberta) a nail artist based in Naarm, and Luka Lesosky-Hay created a collaborative work involved physical false nail sets painted and created by Roberta displayed alongside oil paintings by Luka that featured renderings of the false nails. This piece was exhibited in Luka's 'GRIT - an extension' at Unassigned Gallery in 2024.

The contrast of physical sports such as AFL and it's athletes with the glamour and contradiction of false nails allowed for the inclusion and of an untraditional representation and perspective of sport. One of the core aims of Luka's GRIT exhibitions.
