Luka Lesosky-Hay (b.2001, Djilang/Geelong) is a Naarm based artist interested in the intersection of sculpture, textile and painting. Her ever-expanding practice combines these modes of creation to explore the significance of framing and presentation, and how this can imbue her personal subject matter with recognition and importance. Lesosky-Hay’s work and paintings are offerings of immediate inspiration often drawing from daily life and memories, the subject matter changing with her lived experience.

With a background as a former AFLW player, Lesosky-Hay often draws on her experiences within the sports industry as rich subject matter to speak on contemporary ideas surrounding femininity. Repositioning how sport and its athletes are represented within a creative field, finding similarities and community within the two.
